Metro 2033

This was a title that saw way back in some Gameinformer that didn't really seem to pull much interest from the gaming community.  That is a disappointment because this game is quite a thrill.  First off, if any of you guys like the genre of post-apocalyptic anywhere especially Russia, then this game is worth a try.  As a warning to some easy-to-scare people, this game can be a real mind-F#^$.  Pitch-black corridors, monsters crying in the distance, limited ammo and an environment that will kill you at every possible turn all pour into one savory gaming experience.  A note to people that just tend to pick up games once in a while, Metro 2033 has a learning curve like no other and it takes a while to get used to the controls (At least on console) but after that, I have yet to find a more immersive, realistic, and satisfying post-apocalyptic FPS/RPG.  I encourage you all to check out the teaser trailers and see what this game is all about, because, as far as I know, the game didn't fare well in the market.  So, questions time!  Have you played this title at all? What did you think?  Am I missing some totally horrid game points?  Plus... Tell me what other post-apocalyptic games you've enjoyed or are looking forward to.

A new direction

Okay, I know this blog was originally intended as an anime forum; but I think that has changed slightly.  You see I have always wanted to do reviews and recommendations on anything and everything especially gaming in all forms.  So bear with me as I journey into the world on both anime and video gaming with opinions ablaze and furious commenting.

A Shout-out

Okay, we know we're nerds, right?  Then I have a little somethin-somethin for ya.  If you like anime/video games/popular movies and shows/boardgames and everything else in between then I have the web comic for you.  penny-arcade.com has to be one of all-time favorite web comics and according to the things they have put out (video games/board games) I think that a lot of people would agree.  Here's the bottom line, if you already have experienced penny arcade's silliness then awesome.  However, if you have not, then I strongly suggest you start putting them up on your regularly visited tab.  So penny arcade is awesome, sure enough, but what we comics do -you- guys find hilarious on a regular basis?  Post links to your favs!

Anime and Gaming

These two worlds have often met with one side or the other being severely left out or misunderstood.  It seems as though gaming directors recognize the draw of anime-based video games; however, the execution of the final product tends to get blown apart by popular reviews.  For example, take the Naurto-themed brawlers such as Ultimate Ninja, Rise of a Ninja, The Broken Bond, Etc...  It seems as though there is a very strong fan base behind the titles and that is all well and good.  However, the problem seems to lie in the game development itself.  Ideas seems to not be wholly carried out or corners seem to be cut, in the end producing a not-so-amazing gaming experience.
So tell me.  What games of the anime genre have you played/enjoyed over the years and why?  Am I totally out of my mind thinking that anime gaming seems to be going nowhere?
